Mission Statement
By developing and supporting a community of scholars in medical/dental education, we aim to create an environment at Western in which medical/dental education scholarship is valued as an integral and essential component of the academic mission of the
1. Scholarship: Foster Scholarship in Medical/Dental Education.
- Support and encourage faculty interested in medical/dental education to pursue active research in the field of medical education.
- Encourage collaboration in the field of medical/dental education research.
- Develop and support initiatives that promote medical/dental education scholarship within the faculty.
- Promote increased awareness of medical/dental education issues within the faculty
- Promote medical/dental education as a career path for faculty.
2. Education: Support the Medical/Dental Education
- Provide consultative services at all levels of education in the Faculty (undergraduate, postgraduate, faculty development and CME), on an individual basis or for education-related committees.
3. Community: Build a Community of Scholars in Medical/Dental Education
- Develop and support initiatives that:
- Foster increased interaction amongst faculty interested in medical/dental education.
- Support medical/dental education faculty who have chosen to pursue a career path in medical education.
- Highlight the scholarly medical/dental education work of faculty members
People
The Group for the Advocacy and Advancement of Medical/Dental Education Scholarship (GAMES), operating under the auspices of the Educational Research and Resources Unit of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and reporting to the Vice Dean of Education consists of a core group of individuals, from several departments and faculties, with both expertise and passion for medical/dental education who will provide leadership for the advancement of medical/dental educational scholarship at Western.
