Ontario Medical Education Network (OMEN) Rounds

The Ontario Medical Education Network (OMEN) is a continuing collaboration between the six Ontario Medical Schools. OMEN has established a Research Consortium that will serve to facilitate large scale projects in medical education, harness the combined energies of medical education researchers from across the province, and develop networks of education research teams throughout Ontario .

OMEN organizes monthly Education Grand Rounds which are video-conferenced to all of the Ontario medical schools.
At Western, the OMEN Rounds are coordinated through the Faculty Development Office. The Rounds are typically held on the last Thursday of every month from 7:30 am to 9:00 am in Room 3, St. Joseph 's Health Care. Your attendance is welcomed.

Conference focus: the ADEA is the leading national organization for dental education. Conference focus: The Carl J. Shapiro Institute for Education and Research at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Association of American Medical Colleges are co-sponsoring the Millennium Conference 2005, to be held in Wellesley, MA, from April 28 to May 1, 2005.

Previous Millennium Conferences have centered on the fundamental challenges of teaching medical students, the creation of institutional action plans for educational reform, and the continuum of medical education across undergraduate and graduate curricula.

Conference focus: The "Healing Space" is a concurrent venue within the AAHPM/APNA annual meeting that will emphasize the humanities and arts in palliative medicine, clinician well being, and spirituality. It will include a sacred space for meditation and prayer in the early morning, movement meditation such as taichi, an art and humanities gallery, chair massage, a space for workshops, video and film presentations, poetry and prose readings for all participants, as well as a space to relax, create art work, write and share stories with others. It is a space for the rejuvenation of your whole being - mind, body and spirit.

We are also seeking individuals who would like to present workshops or videos having to do with palliative medicine and the humanities.

Conference focus: COMSEP was established in 1992 and is is a dynamic organization which champions the cause of pediatric medical student education. The COMSEP meeting provides a menu of continuing education materials and topics for pediatric educators. Formal presentations by the organization's leadership, plenary session speakers on state-of-the art topics, poster sessions, interactive workshops, task group meetings including hands-on technology demonstrations, scientific platform presentations, and informal networking comprise the annual program. Attendees participate fully in these sessions and attend relevant organizational committee meetings held in conjunction with the scientific program.

Conference focus: This conference is organized by the UMass Medical School Community Faculty Development Center (CFDC).
