CME at Western

At Western Ontario, we develop and provide effective and evidence-based Continuing Medical Education courses that meet the educational needs and learning objectives of our medical providers.

We also assist organizations to:

  • secure course credits for their CME events and
  • provide services to assist in the development and delivery of needs-based educational events.

This website has been designed to provide an introduction to CME at Western and to review key components of our service.

Mission

The Continuing Professional Development office functions as an integral component of the Education Office within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western.

Its mission is:

To develop, implement and evaluate evidence-informed professional development programs and scholarly activities that meet the educational needs of healthcare providers, faculty and staff, while supporting the educational mission of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) office, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, The University of Western Ontario collects and uses your personal information in order to process your registration for upcoming courses to provide confirmation of course registrations, to provide follow-up information following certain courses, to inform you of future courses and workshops, to advise you of CME courses attended, and to administer Mainpro-C courses which may involve the communication of requirements to complete pre-course needs assessments and post-reflective exercises. Certain information may be shared with the Education Office. In addition, your name and contact information may be used in order to ask you about participating in research projects.

(No information will be disclosed to researchers or external 3 rd party organizations without your consent.)
