Oct 20 - Lunch and Learn Dr. Jake Barralet (McGill Dentistry) was gracious enough to lead a Lunch and Learn session following his presentation ‘Translational research/innovation and industry’. At this event he shared his experience in the academic to industry collaboration for the translation of research to the commercial world. The mechanisms of these collaborations were covered in an interactive event, attended by dental students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Oct 13 - Seminar/Workshop The inaugural DART seminar ‘Developing Leadership Character‘, was presented by Dr. Mary Crossan (Ivey School of Business). This event highlighted important characteristics necessary to lead, in either a research laboratory or a clinical practise. Identification of leadership type, weaknesses, mechanisms to improve oneself, and communication with employees and coworkers were all covered. This event was attended by 45 people including: dental students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
