About CDE

SimLab2016.pjgWhat Makes Schulich Dentistry's Continuing Dental Education Program Unique?

Established in 1970, Schulich Dentistry's Continuing Dental Education program (CDE) offers an important resource for dental healthcare professionals, looking to refresh or upgrade their clinical skills and knowledge.

As a provider of accredited dental programs approved by the RCDSO and ADA/CERP, Schulich Dentistry's CDE has increased its course offerings from an original 12 to 30 dental programs yearly and more recently, added 30 Professional Life Skill programs for students. Program attendance has grown to over 1,200 participant yearly. What makes the program truly unique is the fact that it operates on a full cost-recovery basis. CDE helps raise the profile of Schulich Dentistry and provides a tangible link between the School and its' alumni.

Despite its relatively small size, CDE is very competitive with programs run by larger universities and corporations in North America. This is due in no small part to the quality of instruction, smaller course groups, and accommodating venues.

CDE offers a variety of programs for general practitioners, specialists, dental hygienists and auxiliary, in addition to upgrading programs for foreign dentists, off-shore programs, and custom programs designed and delivered for study clubs or dental societies, in their own community. This range of programming is available to over 20,000 dentists across Canada and the northern United States. To maintain the high quality of its programming in an increasingly competitive marketplace, CDE must seek out partners and supporters.

The continued participation of practitioners, alumni and dental organizations help us to stay competitive. We invite all others to come and "Experience the Western Difference."
