Research Interests / Specializations: Research Imaging Program Leader , Assistant Scientific Director, Lawson Health Research Institute Dr. Frank Prato has completed implementation of a $30 million grant for molecular and hybrid imaging facilities including, as of Feb 7 2012, the first PET/MRI whole body hybrid imaging platform in Canada. He has expertise in both nuclear medicine imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and has published over 210+ scientific papers. With a team of 31 researchers, the Lawson Imaging program is a recognized leader in non-invasive biomedical imaging. Hybrid imaging (which combines two or more imaging methods to provide superior images and diagnostic information) is currently being applied to the areas of cardiology, neurology (including mental health), metabolic disease and cancer.
