Getting REAL with strategic planning

The Strategic Plan, Optimizing Life-long Health, sets out a transformative vision for Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, including key strategic directions, goals and milestones for the next 10 years. We are now at the five-year mark with the plan, so it’s time to take stock of where we are and how we want to move forward in the next five years.

A strategic plan refresh is underway. The process entitled REAL represents the focus of Research, Education & Active Engagement Leader, from the original 2011-2021 strategic plan and our School’s vision.

The REAL process is unfolding during the next few months with a target launch of February 2016.

This past month, several focus groups with faculty and staff took place in London, while the sessions in Windsor will be held on November 30.

A survey is available as a means of providing feedback for those individuals who were unable to attend a focus group. The survey closes on November 30, so there is still time for individuals to participate.

The upcoming Conversation Café invites all faculty, staff and students to join us and discuss key insights from the process so far. We need your ideas related to the following questions:

  • How can we successfully build multi-disciplinary teams across the school to advance our research?
  • What opportunities do you see to improve our educational programs?
  • How we can build a culture of innovation at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry?
  • How can we engage more or differently with London and our SWO communities?

If you are interested in joining the Conversation Café on Wednesday, December 9, please RSVP to Rodger Moran (rodger.moran@schulich.uwo.ca).
