We look forward to welcoming you back to campus on Friday, September 30 – Sunday, October 2 as we unlock the past and focus on passion, purpose, professionalism and potential — key attributes that have driven Schulich Medicine & Dentistry alumni to success.

A variety of events and activities for all ages and interests will be taking place all weekend long. Learn more about some of the exciting events below, or visit the Reunion Weekend web page for a complete list of events.

Medical Assistance in Dying: Cross-Faculty Panel Discussion

Join us on Friday for a cross-faculty panel discussion on the topic of Medicine Assistance in Dying, featuring 2016 Alumni of Distinction Award recipient Dr. Jeff Blackmer, MD’95.

With the controversial assisted-dying Bill C-14 now law, this timely discussion will bring together a cross section of expert panelists from various fields and offer an opportunity to gain insight and perspective from a Schulich Medicine alumnus who is leading the way through the heavily-debated legislation.

This is a joint event between Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and Western Law and open to all community members, alumni, faculty, staff and students. Register online.

Community Lecture

On Saturday morning, we are presenting a series of short lectures focused on health topics and issues currently making headlines in the news today.

This informative three-part event will feature lectures from Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s top researchers. There will be brief question and answer periods after each talk.

Don’t miss out on hearing Greta Bauer, PhD, Steven Laviolette, PhD, and Dr. Michael Rieder speak about their research on controversial topics such as transgender health and the effect of marijuana on diseases. Register online.

Dentistry Simulation Laboratory Tours

Join fellow alumni on a tour of the newly established Schulich Dentistry Simulation Laboratory.

The Simulation Laboratory is housed in over 5,000 square feet and features 60 work stations. This newly designed space will optimize pre-clinic student learning with the use of state of the art technologies inclusive of Digital Radiography, Digital Microscopes, and 30 X optical Zoom Cameras that will be available to students within the lab.

Register now to take part in the tour.

Dentistry Alumni Cocktail Pary

On Saturday evening prior to The Dean's Gala, all Schulich Dentistry alumni are welcome to celebrate the success and achievements of fellow alumni.

Golden Alumni Cocktail Reception

We will begin Saturday evening with a celebration of our golden alumni at the Golden Alumni Cocktail Reception prior to The Dean’s Gala.

We look forward to welcoming all alumni who have celebrated their 50-year reunion (1966 and prior) and awarding them with their anniversary pins over complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Register online.

The Dean’s Gala

Taking place as the finale to the Reunion Weekend activities, The Dean’s Gala is an annual black-tie event that features dinner, live music and dancing. Dr. Michael J. Strong, Dean, invites you to celebrate the excellence, innovation and leadership found within Schulich Medicine & Dentistry alumni.

During the evening program, we will honour the talented recipients of the 2016 Alumni of Distinction Awards who have made outstanding contributions to the School, the community and their profession.
