Simulation and Learning Technologies

Simulation can and often does make use of technology but not necessarily so. Ultimately, simulation is a technique and not a technology.

As educators we focus on the use of these techniques in order to improve training quality or efficiency but also as an opportunity to teach or assess topics that have traditionally been challenging to teach or access.

Simulation can be particularly beneficial at the intersections of medical training with other professions, patient safety initiatives and quality assurance. These intersections are of particular interest to many CBME curricula.
