Medical Physics - CAMPEP

The Department of Medical Biophysics provides a CAMPEP-accredited graduate training program for students interested in a Medical Physics career.

Medical physics training is provided in two formats: (i) a one-year course-based MSc, and (ii) a course- and thesis-based PhD.

Medical physics courses are taught by university- and hospital-based faculty. Courses include radiobiology, medical imaging, radiological physics, anatomy/physiology, practice and quality assurance and practical radiotherapy physics.

MSc Program: Enrichment opportunities include a research project, and hands-on Linac calibration/QA (with training from practicing medical physicists) available by competitive enrolment.

PhD Program: Students will complete a thesis-based PhD, and have opportunities (subject to competitive enrollment) for hands-on Linac calibration/QA experience (with training from practicing medical physicists).

Students who complete the medical physics course curriculum will receive a CAMPEP notation on their transcript and letter of attestation from the CAMPEP Program Director, certifying that they have completed the CAMPEP-accredited medical physics curriculum.
