WORLDiscoveries Scholarship for Commercialization/Entrepreneurship

WORLDiscoveries is generously providing an award for Biochemistry graduate students. Details about the award can be found below.

Purpose

This award promotes the pursuit of commercialization/entrepreneurship within the Dept. of Biochemistry.

Eligibility

Graduate students at the MSc and PhD levels are eligible. Funding for research supplies, equipment, training opportunities, travel, or related activities will be considered.

Amount

This award is worth $500.

Application

Students are asked to provide a one-page document outlining their research project and indicating how the funds will enable commercialization/entrepreneurship. The document should be submitted to Barb Green by e-mail under the subject, WORLDiscoveries Scholarship.

Deadline

The deadline for receipt of applications is 1 Feb 2016.

Adjudication

A panel composed of representatives from WOLRDiscoveries and the Dept. of Biochemistry will review the applications. The successful applicant should acknowledge the support of WORLDiscoveries on all publications/presentations resulting from this funding. In addition, the successful applicant must submit a document stating the outcomes of the funding no later than 12 months after receipt of the funds.
