Awards: Faculty honoured for Academic Leadership

Congratulations to Drs. Jay Rosenfield and Robin Walker who received awards for Academic Leadership from the Pediatric Chairs of Canada (PCC). PCC is dedicated to providing national leadership in paediatric research and education to promote the health and health care of children and youth.

Dr. Rosenfield, Professor and Vice Dean of Education was awarded the PCC Academic Leadership Clinician Educator Award. The award recognized Dr. Rosenfield’s many extraordinary contributions to medical education that span both undergraduate and postgraduate education across all specialties.

PCC describes Dr. Rosenfield as “an exceptional educator who has made substantial contributions to medical education nationally and internationally.”

Dr. Walker, Professor and Integrated Vice President of Medical Affairs and Medical Education for London Health Sciences Centre and St Joseph’s Health Care London, received the PCC Academic Leadership Clinician Practitioner Award. This honour recognizes Dr. Walker’s commitment to paediatrics through his engagement as a clinician, researcher and educator. With over 25 years of experience as a neonatologist, Dr. Walker has worked within the hospital and academic sectors and with non-governmental organizations.

The PCC highlights Dr. Walker’s active advocacy for the health needs of children and youth saying, “Dr. Walker is a true advocate for child health both in the academic environment and in the community.”
