Award: Janet Martin recognized for contributions to health technology assessment

Congratulations to Janet Martin, PharmD, associate professor in Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, on receiving an Anniversary Medal from the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH).

The Anniversary Medal is awarded to individuals whose work and dedication have helped develop, support and expand the use of health technology assessment (HTA) as a vital component of an effective health care system.

Martin is a leading expert in hospital-based HTA. She is the Program Director of the Centre for Medical Evidence, Decision Integrity & Clinical Impact (MEDICI) at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, and Co-Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Global Surgery, Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine, also based at the School. Martin studies and advises on access to safe surgical procedures and perioperative care around the world.
