Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs introduces Dean’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (DUROP)

Science undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience during the summer months now have a new opportunity.

Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs is introducing a new undergraduate research training program called the Dean’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (DUROP), which will begin in summer 2017. DUROP is an exciting addition to Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s funded summer undergraduate research opportunities, and will enhance recruitment of high quality graduate students early in their undergraduate education.

Twenty positions will be awarded for summer 2017, with preference being given to second-year and third-year undergraduate students. Each 16-week summer stipend will cost approximately $6,000, and funding for the program will be split evenly between Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and the research supervisor.

Interested supervisors must submit a project description by Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Students must submit their application to the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, Schulich Medicine & Dentistry by February 23, 2017 (midnight).

The online application will be available after the Supervisor Project Announcements on February 9, 2017.
