Dale Laird honoured as inductee in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

Congratulations to Dale Laird, PhD, on his induction as a Fellow into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS).

Laird is joint-appointed Professor in the Departments of Anatomy & Cell Biology and Physiology and Pharmacology at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry. This induction recognizes him as a leader in Canadian health research in the area of cell biology.

The CAHS praised Laird as, “the foremost researcher in the study of cell to cell communication and connection to over a dozen diseases raising the awareness that connexin-linked diseases are amongst the most common inherited diseases in society.”

“I am honoured to have been selected by my peers this year for induction into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences,” said Laird. “This recognition was made possible by the more than three dozen hardworking and innovative trainees and staff that I have been blessed to call part of my team throughout my academic career.”

He was inducted along with 35 New Fellows at the 2016 Forum and Annual General Meeting on Thursday September 15, 2016 at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal Montreal, Quebec.
