Dr. Anthony Jevnikar receives Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Society of Transplantation

Congratulations to Dr. Anthony Jevnikar, co-director of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program (MOTP) and director of the Matthew Mailing Centre for Translational Transplant Studies, for receiving the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Society of Transplantation (CST).

Dr. Jevnikar is being recognized for dedicating his career to improve the lives of kidney transplant recipients. His research initiatives have fostered a proven track record in highly regarded publications and continuous funding support from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the National Institutes of Health. He has fulfilled many roles in his successful career, as a researcher, clinician, teacher, advocate and administrator. Patients have truly benefited from his devotion and dedication, as he has pursued excellence in innovative research, protocol development and patient care outcomes.

The CST selects transplant physicians and scientists who are internationally recognized for their work. Two other MOTP physicians, Drs. Cal Stiller (2003) and Dr. William Wall (2009), have received this prestigious award — a testament to the high quality of our leaders over the years.

In October, Dr. Jevnikar also received another Lifetime Achievement Award for his care of kidney transplant patients. This award was presented by Showdown in the Downtown, the London Health Sciences Foundation, Domino’s Pizza Canada, Janssen Canada and Astellas Canada.

Congratulations to Dr. Jevnikar on this accomplishment.
