Leaders in Innovation
Celebrate Research Advancements in Epilepsy This November with David and Susan Axelrod at the 2018 Leaders in Innovation Dinner
On November 19, the former senior advisor to President Barack Obama and current Senior Political Commentator for CNN, David Axelrod, and Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE) Founding Chair, Susan Axelrod, will join scientists, researchers and community members for the 2018 Leaders in Innovation Dinner hosted by Robarts Research Institute. The evening will celebrate research advancements and innovations in the area of epilepsy and will include the formal awarding of the J. Allyn Taylor International Prize in Medicine - one of Canada's most prestigious research awards - to Istvan Mody, PhD.
An outspoken health care advocate, David helped Susan found CURE in 1998. Today, CURE has raised more than $43 million for epilepsy research and is the recipient of the prestigious 2008 Neurology Foundation Advocacy Award of Merit, thanks to Susan's leadership.
As part of the Leaders in Innovation Dinner, David and Susan will speak in an engaging armchair discussion about their lives, careers and their journey as parents of a daughter with epilepsy.
