Funding Opportunity: Innovation on the front lines of 'Competence by Design'

Thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the School will be able to fund three or four small, pilot projects reflecting a spirit of innovation regarding the Competence by Design implementation. A call for proposals will be distributed to all programs and departments in the coming weeks.

Innovations in one or more of the following areas will be given priority: a) curriculum design, b) resident assessment, c) teaching, learning and coaching, d) faculty development for Competence by Design, e) learner or faculty wellness impact of Competence by Design, and f) remediation approaches.

By encouraging grassroots innovations, and by providing the support required to frame these innovation as scholarly projects, we will promote advances in the science of Competency Based Medical Education.
